This is a two-day sewing workshop with The System. You’ll be invited to assemble your own bucket hat from pre-cut work, following the instructions of Jack Hancock. All materials are designer ends and dead-stock.
The System is a multifaceted clothing practice that places the human experience above all. As a collaborative design collective, The System aspires to create functional, intelligent clothing that facilitates the realisation of an individual’s authentic expression.
By incorporating a design process that interrogates and dismantles historical methodologies, The System aims to liberate us from cultural constructs while playing with the very language that puts these constructs in place.
The System nurtures skill in the hands of the people, both for the public and for its collaborators, through acknowledging and supporting the interwoven knowledge exchange that occurs in the fashion industry. We look to facilitate a culture of collaboration and equitability within a now unhealthy system of garment making.
Come and immerse yourself in a world of textiles and garment technologies as we give birth to human identities that stretch the borders of our imagination.
Sharp tools and electronic machinery are used in this event
