Every Saturday in July
10.30am - 12.30pm
Melbourne Art Therapy Studios,
Do you want the opportunity to join an art group that nurtures your creativity?
Maybe you’d like to make changes in your life, or are recovering from an illness or event? Or, do you just want to spend the afternoon making art and getting to know and like yourself a little better with like-minded people in a beautiful and inspirational space?
Art Therapy groups and workshops at the Melbourne Art Therapy Studio provide a safe space for you to explore themes that are important to you. You will have the opportunity to use a variety of art materials throughout the sessions to explore, play, discover and delight in the process. You don’t have to share your experience with the group if you choose not to, but the opportunity to discuss ideas and thoughts with others is available
The Melbourne Art Therapy Studio has been at Abbotsford Convent since it opened as an arts precinct.
About the facilitator, Erica Mainprize (AThR): Erica has been a practising art therapist since she graduated from La Trobe University ten years ago. Much of her work has been in the overlapping area of brain injury and mental health, mostly in the role of honorary therapist at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre in Kew. She has also worked with a range of community-based participants, dealing with a great variety of knotty life challenges. In her own art-making Erica enjoys experimenting with unfamiliar media. This wandering-tinkering helps her to support participants to find their own sweet spot where discoveries can be made.
The studio is wheelchair accessible.
Gendered toilets are available within the Convent Building. Accessible and gender-neutral toilets are available at other locations within the Abbotsford Convent Precinct.
