Join us for an evening of traditional South Indian dance, Carnatic music and food.

Meaning to “ascend to the stage”, Arangetram will be the debut performance of  Gargi Kanabar. After years of studying the oldest classical dance tradition in India, Bharatanatyam, under her teacher Rashan Samsul, audiences will finally be able to watch Gargi as she shares this special artform on stage for the first time inside the North Magdalen Laundry.

About

In South Indian culture, an arangetram is the debut on-stage performance of a former student of Indian classical dance and music. This first performance follows years of training and many Indian classical dance forms perform an arangetram once the time has come for a disciple.

Access

The North Magdalen Laundry is universally accessible and gender-neutral toilets are available within the venue.
